Daniel Raymond is the Hepatitis C Policy Analyst for the Harm Reduction Coalition’s (HRC) Hepatitis C Harm Reduction Project, a technical assistance and capacity-building initiative to promote and support the development of hepatitis C programs within New York City needle exchange programs. His role at HRC focuses on three key areas: (1) program design and development, (2) policy, and (3) advocacy.  Daniel Raymond has a long history and has worked tirelessly in support of the needle exchange/harm reduction model and in HIV activism.  He has written for a wide range of hepatitis and HIV community newsletters, and frequently presents on topical issues that affect illicit drug users: harm reduction, hepatitis C, and HIV.  He authored chapters on hepatitis C basic science and drug development for the Treatment Action Group’s 2004 report, Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) and HIV/HCV Coinfection: A Critical Review of Research and Treatment.  He maintains a hepatitis C weblog at www.hepcproject.org and can be reached at raymond@harmreduction.org.
